I believe that when you hire someone to handle your bookkeeping, you should be able to trust that it's being done right.


But I've seen Shopify store owners pay someone to manage their books, only to find out months later that things weren't done correctly. Sometimes, they don't even realize there's a problem until their CPA tells them their books need to be fixed before they can file their taxes.


And that's frustrating. Especially when you've already paid someone to take care of it.
Shopify bookkeeping is more complicated than it looks. Shopify doesn’t send your bank a clean record of what you sold. It sends a payout, with fees taken out, refunds netted in, and sales tax mixed in. Often it’s several days of orders in one deposit, and if you don't know how it all works together, it's easy to get things wrong.

But that's the part I love.


I genuinely enjoy digging into the numbers, figuring out why things aren't adding up, and fixing them. There's something incredibly satisfying about solving a problem that once seemed impossible to untangle.


And that's why I enjoy working with Shopify store owners. I get to solve the complicated bookkeeping problems that have been holding them back, while giving them something they should have had all along: financial information they can trust.


As a QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor with hands-on experience cleaning up Shopify books, I know how important it is to look beyond the numbers being entered and make sure everything is recorded correctly.
